The Groundlings

Groundlings are the toughest Shakespeare viewers ever. They have to stand on concrete for 4-5 hours and can only sit down before the play begins and during the intermission. No one may sit in the groundling section during the play. Surviving the groundling experience is a mark of prestige in England (and I have survived).
