Step by Step Painting Example: Displacer Beast

Last Update: 08/2006

Lots of DDM repaints, Chainmail minis, and other minis added. More still to come.

Some pictures are blurry. I'm working on replacing blurry pictures as I can. Similarly, some pictures are a little washed out. I'm also working to replace those pictures as well.

Update: 02/2006

I have added a step by step painting example. I do not go into great detail about brush care, loading the brush, mixing paints and palette use, complimentary/coincidental color schemes, or drybrush/wash/glaze techniques. This is a tutorial for using layers of wet brushed color to demonstrate how I achieve the style that my mini paintjobs have. I also do not explain NMM techniques since the example mini does not have any metallic areas. Each of the techniques that I do not explain are fully covered by How-to guides on www.maxminis.com, www.coolminiornot.com, among other places.

Finally decided to start taking decent pictures of my miniature paint jobs and repaints. This site will have more content added, albeit slowly, as I finish painting, basing, and photographing more minis. I've already finished painting quite a few I just need to base and photograph them. Unfortunately time constraints will keep this an ongoing project for quite some time.
